Compresses and poultices were a commonplace aspect of traditional self-help remedies. Modern medicine has made many tremendous advances, however it is still useful to have access to traditional treatments for self help and palliative care.

Ginger has warming and penetrating qualities and has for centuries been used in the east as a healing herb for many conditions; our cultural familiarity of it is as a digestive aid and relief for cold symptoms.
