Over the two days Rocío Alarcón will take you through the shamanic practice of the uses of spiritual and medicinal plants to remove forces that change the energies in the earth and in our bodies. She will lead all the shamanic and healing ceremonies using her spiritual knowledge and all the traditional history from her family and ancestors. You will have the opportunity to treat and to clean and feed your own bodies and the mother earth with the power of medicinal and spiritual plants.

The practice will involve 'la Limpia’, a shamanic practice to clear the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies from an energy called 'mal-aire' (bad air). Those fears and blockages that create heaviness in the mind and spirit and that can develop into physical illnesses will be encouraged to move on. You will not only receive healing from Rocio, you will also be taught practices for healing and cleansing using our local aromatic plants.

  • To summarise you will be taught how to remove energies of the earth and your own three bodies
  • Ways to support the earth, to heal the earth and to heal and remove different levels of energies.
  • You will also be taught how to use our own local herbs and plants that can help as in the process.

About Rocío Alarcón:

Rocio was born in Quito Ecuador at the feet of the Pichicha Volcano. From her earliest childhood she showed an interest in plants which was no surprise as she comes from a long line of women who practice plant healing and shamanism. The knowledge is part of her family and cultural heritage. Her main focus is the relationship of people with plants that are both food and medicine, plants that allow a healing process. Her interest also includes the myths and traditions concerning the flora in different cultures.

Rocio is one of the pioneers of Ethnobotany, a passion which lead her to work for several years in the tropics of Ecuador living with various ethnic groups. In the Amazon rain forest with Wuaorane, Quichua, Shuar, Cofán. In the Ecuadorian Chocó with the Afro-Esmeraldenos and Chachi. Later in 2010 she earned her PhD at the Centre for Pharmacognosy and Phytotherapy, University of London, with a focus on the Ethnobotany of the region South of the Basque country in Spain; the use of edible and medicinal plants plus the selection of species for the future development of functional foods that increase energy levels.
